The search is on for three boaters missing after their pontoon boat capsized on a western Wisconsin lake Saturday.
According to the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Lake Pepin, located along the border of Minnesota and Wisconsin, at approximately 10:45 p.m. Saturday after cries for help were heard from the shoreline.
When the deputies arrived they found an overturned pontoon boat located just offshore, and three individuals clinging to the sides of the vessel.
Those individuals told first responders there had been three other individuals on the boat, but those individuals have not yet been located, according to police.
A myriad of search and rescue tools have been deployed to the area, including rescue boats, drones, and helicopters, according to authorities.
