An Asian department store known for its vast selection of beauty products, snacks and home goods is opening its second Chicago-area location this weekend.
Saturday will mark the grand opening of TESO Life’s new Naperville store, located at 1555 N. Aurora Rd.
Billed as a “Japanese fashion casual life product department store,” the company was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Queens, New York. Since then, the chain has expanded to more than 20 locations across the country.
TESO Life in a TikTok video described itself as an “Asian department store where you can find everything” – highlighting its large collection of blind boxes and mystery collectibles, wide range of Asian skincare products and everyday essentials.
The Naperville store isn’t TESO Life’s first Chicago-area location – and it won’t be its last.
The company opened a location in Niles last year and plans to open a third local store in Rolling Meadows.
The expansion reflects the growing number of Asian retail chains in the Chicago area.
Competing retail chain Daiso operates locations in Oswego, Willowbrook, Bloomingdale, South Elgin, Niles, Crystal Lake and Kenosha, Wisconsin.
