Speedo Sectionals qualifier Sienna Zauder has announced her verbal commitment to stay in-state and swim at the University of Nevada beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news in an email to SwimSwam, writing:
I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to the University of Nevada, Reno to continue my academic and swimming career!! Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates, and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. I am grateful for this opportunity and excited for the next chapter as a member of the Wolf Pack family. Go Pack!!
A rising senior at Arbor View High School in Las Vegas, Zauder trains year-round with the Sandpipers of Nevada and primarily specializes in sprint freestyle and butterfly.
Zauder is coming off a 2025-26 short course season that saw her make a sizable leap in the butterfly events. She entered the season with personal bests of 58.69 and 2:18.76 in the 100 and 200 fly, and ended it with times of 57.58 and 2:07.59. In addition to her improvements across fly, she also chipped about two tenths off her best time in the 50 free.
She set most of those bests at Speedo Sectionals – Walnut, where she placed 18th in the 50 free (24.07), 24th in the 50 fly (26.08), 32nd in the 200 fly (2:07.59), 39th in the 100 fly (57.88), 62nd in the 100 free (53.34), and 83rd in the 200 free (1:56.71), with her 200 fly time standing as a lifetime best. She capped her season a few months later at the Western Zone Senior Championships at the end of March, where she clocked PBs in the 50 free and 100 fly, in addition to season bests of 52.29 and 1:55.19 in the 100 and 200 free.
Zauder’s lifetime bests in the 100 and 200 free still stand from the 2024-2025 season; she posted a time of 51.36 at the Southern Region Championships and 1:54.15 at the Sandpipers’ Las Vegas Super Finals Invite.

To earn a second swim at the meet, swimmers needed times of 54.92 and 2:04.71 in the 100 and 200 fly, and 23.36, 50.98, and 1:51.49 in the 50, 100, and 200 free, cuts that Zauder’s current bests fall just outside of. Given that she’s within striking distance of those scoring times in the 50 and 100 free, and still has two full seasons of training ahead before lining up at her first conference meet, she will likely make an immediate impact for the Wolf Pack.
Zauder joins Kim Kulow and Mac Wheeler in committing to Nevada’s class of 2031 so far.
