Gauram Gupta, a Times of India journalist, has shared the update on his social media account ‘X’. “Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is set to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame; what great news on his birthday,” the social media post reads.

It is worth mentioning that Ganguly served as the 35th President of BCCI from October 23, 2019, to October 18, 2022, before another former India cricketer, Roger Binny, took over the charge from him.
According to previous rumours, Ganguly was in the race to become the head of the ICC as well. But, in reality, he held the position of Chairperson of the ICC Men's Cricket Committee from November 17, 2021, re-appointed in April 2025.
