ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A mainly dry and comfortable morning with cloudy skies and tolerable humidity that will rise over the next few hours. Low pressure to the southeast will help drive in some slow moving showers to our region by this afternoon and lasting into tonight. Some showers will get heavy and may feature a rumble of thunder but no severe weather expected. There may be some localized flooding in flood prone areas where the heaviest rain falls, and the greatest chance for this will be in portions of the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier. Highs today will be near 80.
Rain tapers off in Rochester a little after sunset at the latest while to the southeast it will linger into tomorrow morning at the most. Tomorrow will be similar temperature wise, humid once again, but will feature more sunshine especially later in the day and should stay mainly dry. Wednesday our wind shifts out of the southwest which will drive in warmth and moisture, bringing highs up into the mid 80s and dew points above 70 degrees. Again it should stay mainly dry.
Thursday keeps the warmth and moisture and sees the return of unsettled weather. Friday sees a cold front scrape up remaining warmth and moisture which will cause some thunderstorms. Much more comfortable behind that front in time for the weekend.
Stay tuned for updates on the forecast.
