Mr. Paul Clemons

Paul Allan Clemons passed away on July 2, 2026, in Carthage, Tn, at the age of 72.

He was born on February 25, 1954, in Carthage, Tn.  Paul was the son of Milas Thomas Clemons and Elizabeth Mae Pully Clemons. He grew up surrounded by family and the values of faith, hard work, and quiet strength that remained with him throughout his life.

    Paul was a proud graduate of Smith County High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Navy.  Following his military service, Paul continued to live a life of self  independence. He was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Carthage, Tn. He was baptized on July 30, 1967, when he was 12 years old, and his faith remained an part of who he was.

    Those who knew Paul understood that he was a man of few words, a loner by nature, and someone who valued a quiet and simple way of life. He found enjoyment in collecting vintage toys, a hobby that reflected both his appreciation for the past and his unique interests. In his own way, Paul built a life that was true to himself, and that authenticity was part of what made him memorable to those around him.

    Paul is survived by his brothers: William “Bud” Clemons and his wife Delores Fay of Granville, Tn, and David Clemons and his wife Peggy of Gordonsville, Tn; sisters: Sharon Enoch and her husband Sidney of Riddleton, Tn, and Cheryl Lankford and her husband Stanley “Harvey” of Tanglewood, Tn, as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish his memory.

    The family extends a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice and to nurses: Kay Doss and Sheri Kinney for the excellent care given to Paul during his illness. Their kindness and compassion were deeply appreciated and brought comfort during a difficult time.

    He was preceded in death by his parents: Milas Thomas Clemons and Elizabeth Mae Pully Clemons and nephew: Christopher Clemons.

    Paul will be remembered for his steady presence, his quiet nature, his service to his country, and the life he lived with humility and sincerity. Though he was not one to seek attention, he leaves behind a lasting place in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to be treasured by family and friends, and his life will be honored with gratitude and affection.

    At this time, the family has chosen cremation with a graveside service to be announce at a later date.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made in Paul’s honor to Gordonsville High School Football by contacting the business office at the funeral home.
