Repair work reduced traffic on southbound Route 59 to one lane between 127th Street and 135th Street, police said in a post on social media.

“Please use alternate routes if possible,” police said.

Officials said they anticipate the repairs to be completed Thursday night, after which the village will complete the necessary testing to confirm IEPA compliance.

“The boil order will remain in effect until all repairs and testing are completed which typically takes 24-48 hours,” officials said.

The boil order is in effect in the following areas:

“Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for 5 minutes, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice,” officials said.
