PERINTON, N.Y. — Two people charged in connection to a deadly shooting and robbery at an apartment in Perinton pleaded not guilty to their charges.
Destiny Cotto and Ja’Quez Riley-Hill pleaded not guilty to murder and three counts of robbery.
Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies say they found 32-year-old Ezra John Nunez dead in his apartment on Pittsford Palmyra Road in May. After looking at multiple surveillance videos, executing search warrants, and interviewing witnesses, deputies arrested Tyree Ross-Simmons, 35.
Ross-Simmons was charged with second-degree murder. Nearly two weeks later, deputies arrested Cotto and Riley-Hill. Investigators say all three played a role, and at least one person was “untruthful” in initial statements to police.
All three are currently in the Monroe County Jail.
