EastEnders icon Lacey Turner confirms empowering, no-nonsense memoir featuring soap legends is due in 2026

Lacey Turner is set to release her debut memoir, Gold Dust: My Life (So Far) with the Women Who Shaped Me this October.

The former EastEnders actress, who took a break from the soap after two decades of playing Stacey Slater last year, has penned an "empowering, no-nonsense" recollection of the "powerful, inspirational" women in her life.

Announcing the news on Instagram today (25 June), Turner wrote: "Well… this is a bit surreal.

"I’ve spent the last year looking back on my life and talking about the women who helped shape me, and now I can finally share it with you.

"Gold Dust is packed with stories, laughter, life lessons and some very special people who have been there through every chapter of my life.

"Writing this book has reminded me just how lucky I’ve been to have such strong, funny and inspiring women around me. I can’t wait for you to read it."

Gold Dust will detail her relationships with her mother, grandmother, sisters, daughters and best friends, as well as the late, great June Brown, Barbara Windsor and Wendy Richard.

She'll also speak candidly about her friendship with Kat Slater star Jessie Wallace.

Looking back on her 20 year career, Turner will recall the hilarious anecdotes and "life wisdom" that Brown and Windsor provided her, as well as what her future may hold.

Publishers Viking Penguin have promised that the book is "like sitting down with your best mate for a comforting, reassuring and celebratory chit-chat".

The memoir can be pre-ordered now, ahead of its release on 22 October.

The timing is perfect for Turner, as she'll be back on our screens in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing and will be introduced to new audiences away from soapland.

Earlier this month, she was the first name announced for the highly-anticipated new era of the dancing competition, which will see Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe replacing Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman as hosts.

They'll be joined by professional dancers Dianne Buswell, Amy Dowden, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Aljaž Škorjanec, Jowita Przystał, Johannes Radebe, Nancy Xu, Kai Widdrington, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Vito Coppola, Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon.

Speaking of her new project, Turner said at the time: "I am so excited to being making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing!

"I am a huge fan and can’t quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year! I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill!”

Gold Dust: My Life (So Far) with the Women Who Shaped Me can be pre-ordered now.
