ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 17-year-old is facing charges after Rochester Police say he shot a man in his 40s on Kenwood Avenue.

The teen is charged with attempted murder, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon. Police say on June 11, officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound to the lower body.
Police say they quickly applied a tourniquet to the man. He was then brought to Strong Memorial Hospital where his injuries were determined to be serious, but non-life threatening.
The 17-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday by RPD’s Tactical Unit. He was brought to the Monroe County Children’s Detention Center.
