August 10-16, 2026 Paris, France — Olympic Aquatics Centre LCM (50 Meters) Meet Information Meet Central Roster IndexThe Russian Swimming Federation has announced their roster for the 2026 European Championships in Paris.
This meet will be a big deal for the Russian swimmers, who are going to be competing under their national flag and colors for the first time in more than four years, rather than under the Neutral Athlete designation.
The roster is highlighted by a few major players from last year’s World Championships including men’s 50 backstroke gold medalist Kliment Kolesnikov, men’s 50 breaststroke silver medalist Kirill Prigoda, and women’s 200 breaststroke silver medalist and world record holder Evgeniia Chikunova.
Egor Kornev is another member of this summer’s roster, and he has been on a tear this summer. At the Russian National Championships, he set the top times in the world this year in the 100 free (46.96) and the 50 fly (22.59) and the 2nd fastest time in the world in the 50 free (21.06). He is now the Russian record holder in all three events.
Notably absent from the roster is Miron Lifintsev, the 2nd-fastest 100 backstroker ever after he swam 51.78 leading off the 400 mixed medley in Singapore last summer. It was announced earlier this week that he would not be attending the meet due to a shoulder injury that needs rehab, and his focus is shifting to the 2027 World Championships.
