ENDWELL, N.Y. — State Police arrested a 24-year-old man after a fire at a hotel near Binghamton that killed six people.
Tyler Russell, of Endwell, is charged with six counts of manslaughter in the second degree and arson.
The fire happened at around 6 a.m. on June 22 at the Knights Inn on East Main Street in Endwell, according to State Police.
Multiple people were displaced as a result of a fire, State Police say. They say those displaced are being assisted by the Red Cross, and a temporary shelter has been setup at the Vestal United Methodist Church.
State Police say six deaths have been confirmed at this time. They say the identities of the victims will be released later.
