Jon Rothstein gave Kentucky fans a sneak peek into the Wildcats’ SEC basketball journey for next season, posting a breakdown on Monday night of UK’s home and road conference games.
As Mark Pope tries to revive the program and get Kentucky back into relevancy in conference and nationally, Rothstein revealed some tasty nuggets as far as the schedule was concerned. According to the CBS Sports college basketball insider, Kentucky will play Ole Miss twice during next season’s SEC grind, with the Rebels being the upcoming season’s “rotating mirror opponent” for the Wildcats.
Rothstein also reported that Kentucky’s “normal mirror opponents,” which are Tennessee and Vanderbilt, would remain intact for next season.

The aforementioned trio of Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss will be facing off with Kentucky twice each, once in Lexington and once at their place, so Wildcats fans will become quite familiar with the Volunteers, Commodores and Rebels.
Among the notable SEC home games next season, according to Rothstein’s list, include Alabama and Arkansas, with Texas A&M also coming to Rupp Arena. That should make for a stacked home SEC slate for Pope’s team in 2026-27.
