No one was seriously hurt in the fire on Lake Road early Sunday morning. But the damage is extensive.
Monday morning, Pettinari’s Meat and Deli in Hilton set up a space for people to drop off items for families impacted by the fire. Members of the community quickly started dropping off clothes, toiletries and other items.
They’ve already gotten a full bag of clothes. An employee at Pettinari’s says it’s about giving back to the community that has supported them.
“Everybody likes to support small businesses, and so we’re just doing what we can to support people back with what happened in the fires out of people’s control,” said Haven Neff. “So we’re just trying to do what we can to help them and help families and what we can do. So we’re taking donations for people. Toiletries. However, people want to help give back the good.”
14 fire companies responded to the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
