Another wonderful week of World Cup 2026 football stretches ahead of us.

The start of the biggest World Cup ever, after the expansion to 48 teams and 104 fixtures, has lived up to the billing.

    We've had shocks, big wins, late goals, wonderstrikes, red cards and even manager sackings – and we're not even through two rounds of group stage fixtures.

    With places in the knock-out stages on the line, things are only going to crank up a notch as we head deeper into the tournament.

    The expectation is that it will be the usual suspects in the mix for silverware; however, with holders Argentina, reigning European champions Spain, France, and England among those tipped to go all the way.

    Every match at World Cup 2026 will be broadcast on either BBC or ITV, meaning fans have plenty of live football on free-to-air TV this summer.

    The majority of matches will be shown on the flagship BBC One and ITV1 channels, but the third round of group-stage games will be split across channels due to simultaneous kick-off times.

    Of course, every moment will also be available to watch via BBC iPlayer and ITVX via a range of devices, including laptops, smart TVs, tablets and smartphones.
