A pair of SEC golfers had a week to remember at the US Open.
Auburn’s Jackson Koivun and Oklahoma’s Ryder Cowan tied for 23rd at the US Open, shooting 5-over par at the difficult Shinnecock Hills course in New York.
With that score, Koivun and Cowan were the best-performing amateurs at the event this weekend. Their join accomplishment was celebrated by SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey after the tournament concluded:

Koivun is set to begin his professional career in the coming weeks. He’s expected to make his pro debut at the John Deere Classic in July
Cowan just finished his junior season at Oklahoma. He was named first-team All-SEC for his efforts in 2026. Cowan was also a consensus All-American this season.
Wyndham Clark won the US Open this year with a wire-to-wire performance. He held off former LSU golfer Sam Burns on Sunday to finish 4-under-par and earn his second US Open title in the last three years.
