Person injured after gunfire on Dan Ryan strikes CTA Red Line train window

A 46-year-old man was injured by flying glass after a CTA train window was struck by gunfire near the Dan Ryan Expressway Sunday morning.

According to the Illinois State Police, three vehicles were traveling down the Dan Ryan near 95th Street at approximately 8:47 a.m. Sunday, and occupants of those vehicles were exchanging gunfire.

    A gunshot struck the window of a CTA Red Line train during that exchange of gunfire, and the flying glass struck a 46-year-old man in the face and body, according to Chicago police.

    The drivers of the vehicles fled down the expressway, and the injured individual was taken to an area hospital for treatment for his injuries. He was listed in good condition, police said.
