For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
The University of Miami will boast a strong women’s roster this season, with Charlotte Brousseau of Canada and Joslyn Bolton of North Carolina announcing their commitments to swim for the Hurricanes beginning in the fall of 2026.
Brousseau currently trains year-round with Club Aquatique Montréal and primarily specializes in free, fly and IM. She competed at the 2025 Swimming World Cup (SCM) stop in Toronto in October, where she placed 11th in the 200 fly (2:15.51) and 400 IM (4:50.58) and 18th in the 200 IM (2:18.97).
Most of Brousseau’s top times stand from last summer. At the 2025 Festival par équipe section 1 meet (SCM) last June, she logged personal best times in four events; she was the runner-up in the 50 free (26.78 – PB), 100 free (58.06 – PB), 200 fly (2:14.50) and 200 IM (2:18.27) and took 3rd in the 100 fly (1:01.89 – PB) and 200 free (2:03.28 – PB). Two months later, Brousseau turned in another series of strong performances at the Speedo Canadian Championships (25m) in August, where she won the 200 fly (2:12.25 – PB) and 400 IM (4:44.78 – PB) and placed 3rd in the 200 IM (2:16.22), 5th in the 100 IM (1:04.14 – PB) and 13th in the 400 free (4:20.69 – PB).
Brousseau most recently raced at the Coupe Quebec (LCM), earning a second swim in three events. She prevailed in the 200 IM (2:20.31), 400 IM (4:59.36) and 800 free (9:11.80) and took 3rd in the 400 free (4:27.90 – PB).

She trains year-round with Team Charlotte Swimming, primarily specializing in free and back.
Over the past year, Bolton raced at both the summer and winter Junior Nationals meets. At the 2025 Winter Junior Championships (SCY) in December, she contested the 50 free (23.50), 100 free (51.19 – SB), 200 free (1:49.41 – PB), 100 back (56.16 – SB) and 200 back (2:01.63 – PB). Last summer, she competed at the Junior National Championships (LCM), racing the 50 free (27.11), 100 free (57.68 – PB), 50 back (30.92), 100 back (1:05.66) and 50 fly (28.53 – PB).
The 2026 Southeastern Meet of Champions (SCY) in March saw Bolton turn in a series of fast swims. She took 2nd in the 50 free (23.19 – SB), 100 free (49.81 – PB) and 200 free (1:47.82 – PB), 5th in the 100 back (55.85) and 7th in the 200 back (2:02.21) after setting a best time of 2:01.45 during prelims.

50 free – 22.97 100 free – 49.81 200 free – 1:47.82 100 back – 54.77 200 back – 2:01.45A Division I program in the Atlantic Coast Conference, Miami (FL) placed 12th at this past season’s conference championship in February before sending three athletes to compete at the NCAA Division I Women’s Championships, where they finished 18th overall. To earn a second swim at the 2026 ACC Championships, it took times of 22.56/48.91/1:46.88/4:46.29 in the 50/100/200/500 free, 52.61/1:55.26 in the 100/200 back, 53.31/2:00.11 in the 100/200 fly and 1:59.35/4:16.86 in the 200/400 IM. Based on those results and her projected converted times, Brousseau would have landed in the ‘C’ final in the 200 fly and 400 IM, bringing added depth to the Hurricanes.
On the team itself, Bolton is poised to be one of the Hurricanes’ top competitors in the freestyle events, while Brousseau should be a top contributor in the IM events.
Bolton and Brousseau will round out a recruiting class that includes Peyton Leigh and Taylor Johannsen, who should make for strong training partners over the next four years.
