MONROE COUNTY, N.Y. — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office recovered 14 stolen cars this week.

It was an eight-hour joint effort with RPD and State Police. The operation happened Wednesday.

    GIVE — or Gun Involved Violence Elimination — is a grant funding initiative designed to reduce violent crime. The operation used the county’s new Regional Investigative Operations Center and license plate readers to recover the 14 stolen cars and make multiple felony and warrant arrests.

    Additionally, statistics include 65 traffic stops, 102 tickets, five felony arrests, one violent arrest, and three warrant arrests.
