ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After an active Thursday, Friday will bring less windy weather. However, some lake breeze thundershowers will form just south of Route 104. Despite the lake-induced showers, Friday will be pleasant with highs in the mid-70s, scattered cumulus clouds, and low humidity. The leftovers of yesterday’s gusty winds will keep it breezy with winds out of the west/northwest between 15 and 20 mph with occasional gusts between 20 and 30 mph.
Friday night remains comfortable with dew points hovering around 50 degrees with an overnight air temperature around 55 degrees. Some wind gusts may still reach between 20 to 30 mph, However, winds will generally stay out of the west between 10 to 15 mph.
A busy weekend is ahead for all with Jazz Fest starting up and Father’s Day on Sunday. The good news is that we should remain mostly dry for the majority of the weekend with only 20% rain chances on for both Saturday and Sunday. However, keep an eye on your radar for any pop-up lake showers (as has been the case for Friday), and have an umbrella handy in case the weather takes a turn. Any showers should be brief both on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend temperatures stay in the mid-70s both days. Winds will continue to decrease to mainly 5 to 10 mph out of the northwest by Saturday evening.
