ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester police are investigating an early morning shooting near Cobbs Hill Park that left an 18-year-old man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
Man shot near Cobbs Hill ParkOfficers responded to the area of Cobbs Hill Park around 1:30 a.m. Friday after receiving reports of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found an abandoned vehicle that had been struck multiple times by gunfire on Monroe Avenue near the intersection of Culver Road. Shortly afterward, police located the driver, an 18-year-old Rochester resident, inside the park suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The victim was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.
Police said no other occupants of the car were located. Investigators also said the victim was not forthcoming with information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The investigation led officers to a house party on Monroe Avenue. Police believe the shooting occurred on Alliance Street near Monroe Avenue, a short distance from Cobbs Hill Park.
