Estonia’s Maari Randvali, who competed at the 2025 World Junior Championships, has announced her verbal commitment to swim for the University of Michigan beginning in the fall of 2027.

Originally from Tallinn, Estonia, Randvali swims for Mount Kelly Swimming in England while also representing Estonia internationally with Kalev Swimming School. She primarily specializes in free, back and fly.
At the 2026 Edinburgh International (LCM) in March, Randvali turned in a series of strong performances. She placed 3rd in the 50 fly (27.07 – SB), 4th in the 50 back (28.82 – PB), 6th in the 100 back (1:01.65 – PB), 11th in the 200 back (2:18.79), 21st in the 100 fly (1:02.41) and 24th in the 100 free (57.36).
Randvali posted another string of fast swims at the AP Race International (LCM) a few months later, logging three new personal best times. She contested the 50 free (26.23 – PB), 50 back (28.73 – PB), 100 back (1:01.85) and 100 fly (59.96 – PB).
Randvali holds several lifetime best times from the 2025 Latvian Junior and Youth Championships (LCM) last season, including in the 400 free (4:31.01), 200 back (2:16.01) and the 200 IM (2:24.89). She also holds a best time of 56.78 in the 100 free from the 2025 Akvile Lithuanian Swimming Championships.
At the 2025 World Junior Championships (LCM), Randvali represented Estonia in three events, placing 39th in the 50 back (29.53), 32nd in the 100 back (1:02.75) and 40th in the 50 fly (27.32).

To earn a second swim at the 2026 Big Ten Conference Championships, it took times of 53.24 in the 100 fly, 22.54/49.24 in the 50/100 free and 54.05/1:58.51 in the 100/200 back. Based on Randvali’s projected SCY times, she would have landed in the ‘B’ final in the 100 fly.
On the team itself, Randvali would have ranked 7th in the 100 fly this past season, bringing added depth to the roster. With another full season to go, there is still plenty of time for Randvali’s times to change and for the roster to shake out differently.
Currently set to join Randvali in the pool in the fall of 2027 are Sofia Szymanowski, Wui Kiu Man and Leila Stafford, who should all make for strong training partners over their four years together.
