MUMFORD, N.Y. — Thousands lined up at the Genesee Country Village and Museum on Wednesday to have their items appraised by experts from the “Antiques Roadshow.”

The “Antiques Roadshow” is the most watched show on PBS. Three thousand people were at the museum today to have their items appraised.
Those who got tickets lined up at the museum early this morning with their items in hand. They learned more about the historical significance behind their antiques and then their items were appraised by experts.
Some people were pleasantly surprised by what they learned.
“We’ve gotten a book from a friend, able to bring it in. Song of David, absolutely gorgeous, number 12 of 500 and it’s worth 800 dollars,” one woman said.
“I have a bowl that my family uses as a guacamole bowl and I found out it was worth a lot of money. Our appraiser told us it was the most expensive guacamole bowl she ever appraised. She said it was worth a thousand to 15 hundred dollars,” a man said.
Ashley said the bowl belonged to his grandmother and he plans to hang onto it.
This is the second time the “Antiques Roadshow” has been in the Rochester area. The last time the show was here was in 1998.
