BRIGHTON, N.Y. — Brighton Police are investigating after they say someone stole from two people’s pension funds.
Police say they got a report of theft of pension benefits on June 12 from Roofers Local Union No. 22 on Metro Park. They say two people were hacked. One person had over $4,000 missing dating back to October. The other person had $940 missing dating back to December.
Money that should have gone into their accounts was rerouted from the pension fund into an account at GreenDot Bank, according to police.
Both victims have been reimbursed by M&T Bank, police say. They also say there are currently no suspects.
