A stacked lineup of award-winning artists is slated to take the stage at the Obama Presidential Center’s grand opening ceremony later this week, the Obama Foundation announced on Tuesday.
Set to take place Thursday on the center’s John Lewis Plaza, the grand opening event will mark the culmination of more than a decade of work to bring the facility to life.
Tickets for the event are already sold out, though those hoping to still watch the event can catch it on a live stream offered by NBC Chicago.
NBC Chicago will offer a live feed of the festivities from 8-10:30 a.m. on the NBC Chicago 24/7 streaming channel and our app. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., coverage will appear on television as well, continuing through 1 p.m.
Telemundo Chicago will also offer a live stream of the event in Spanish from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Telemundo Chicago app.
“This Grand Opening ceremony will be unlike any other — filled with music, performances, and hope,” said Valerie Jarrett, CEO of The Obama Foundation. “The Grand Opening Ceremony will reflect a spirit of inspiration and joy, with a big boost from the performers who are sharing their talent with us. We hope to inspire people everywhere to believe in their power to bring change home.”
