A teenager has died after a collision involving an e-bike in suburban Franklin Park, police said.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, when Franklin Park police said they were called to the intersection of Belmont Avenue and George Street for a report of a traffic crash.
A 19-year-old man riding the e-bike was involved in a crash with a vehicle driven by a 63-year-old man.
The teen was taken to Loyola Hospital but “did not survive his injuries,” police said.
The 63-year-old man stayed at the scene and spoke to officers who responded to the 911 call, according to authorities.
Police said an investigation into what happened remains ongoing.
Belmont Avenue between Mannheim Road and Scott Street was closed and was expected to remain closed for several hours while officials processed the scene.
