Fortnite Sprites explained: All Sprites and how to use them

Sprites are back in a big way in Chapter 7 Season 3 Runners, and we've got everything you need to know about them explained, from extractions, summoning them, and levelling them up.

No doubt, you've already seen the little fellers wandering around the Fortnite map, or found them in chests, so if you are struggling to figure out what that Punk Sprite does, you've come to the right place.

Sadly, for all the abilities Sprites grant players, they will be powerless to stop a UK government ban that could affect Fortnite.

But there is plenty to get through, so read on for the full scoop on all things Sprites, including what is the rarest Sprite of all!

    What are Sprites in Fortnite?

Fortnite Sprites are small, adorable creatures that will help you out in battle royale — but you have to find them first!

There are eleven different types of Sprites to be found, and each of these has a Gold and Gummy variant, which sees you gain bonus XP from eliminations and 10% more Sprite Dust upon Extraction, respectively.

Water Sprites, which can be found along rivers and beaches, are a rare Sprite that replenishes you and your teammates' shields when standing in water.

    Earth Sprite

Earth Sprites increase your chances of finding additional rare items when opening chests, with the chances of doing so increasing as you level up the Sprite, starting at 10% at Level 1, and increasing by 5% at each level until it is maxed out at 30% at Level 5. Earth Sprites, which are rare, can be found wandering around wooded regions and forests.

The Fire Sprite causes fire damage to enemies after you've dealt enough damage. At Level 1, you need to do 175 damage, but this goes down by 25 damage at each level until Level 5, where you only need to do 75 damage. It is a rare type and can be found near urban areas.

    Duck Sprite

The Duck Sprite lets you replenish your shield when Emoting or Jamming. The rate at which your Shield is replenished increases with each Sprite level. At Level 1, you will get 1 Shield point per tick, and this increases by one until 5 per tick at Level 5. It is an Epic Sprite, and can be found at Cluster POIs.

    Ghost Sprite

The Ghost Sprite cloaks you when reloading, with the duration of your invisibility increasing with each Level. At Level 1, you get two seconds of cloaking, and this goes up by half a second at each Level until four seconds at Level 5. It is an Epic Sprite type and can be found across the map during nighttime.

With the Demon Sprite equipped, you can gain some health and shields when you eliminate an enemy. At Level 1, you get 5 HP, and it increases by 5 until Level 5 where you get 25 HP per elimination. It is an Epic Sprite and can only be found in Sprite Chests.

    King Sprite

The King Sprite increases the damage your Pickaxe does. At Level 1, you get a 25% increase, and it increases by 25% until Level 5, where it gets  125% damage bonus. It is an Epic Sprite that can only be found rarely in Sprite Chests.

The Punk Sprite gives you a random chance of giving you infinite ammo when reloading, but you have to get the Punk Sprite to Level 5 first. You won't have an infinite magazine, but rather you won't need any ammunition in your ammo pool. It is a Legendary Sprite and can only be found in Sprite Chests.

    Dream Sprite

The Dream Sprite grants a random item at each level, with the loot value increasing with each level. Once you get it to Level 5, it will explore with Legendary loot. It is a Legendary Sprite that can be found sleeping in storage crates.

The Zero Point Sprite spawn a Shield Bubble Jr. whenever you use a healing item on yourself, not including splashes and grenades. The Shield Bubble Jr. lasts for six seconds at Level 1, and increases by a second at each level until ten seconds at Level 5. It is a Mythic Sprite that can only be found in Sprite Chests.

    TheBurntPeanut Sprite

When you have TheBurntPeanut Sprite equipped, you will have a greater chance of finding loot when eliminating players, including Mythic loot. At Level 1, you have a 20% greater chance of finding loot, and this increases by 10% up at each level, up to 60% at Level 5. Also at Level 5, you have a 10% chance of finding Mythic Loot. TheBurntPeanut Sprite is Mythic and can only be found in Relic Chests.

How to use, extract and level up Sprites in Fortnite

To use Sprites in Fortnite, you first need to find and equip them. This will grant you their base abilities, but they will become more useful as you level them up. Sprites have a level cap of Level 5, and you can level up sprites by extracting sprites, eliminating other players, and opening chests and containers.

If you want to take a Sprite into another match, you will have to extract it, which can be done by either using an Extraction Site or a Portable Extractor.

Extraction Sites are located on the map, and when you find one, you need to call a crate by activating the control panel. This process takes a short while, so expect to fend off other players during this time. Once the crate arrives, you need to put the Sprite inside, after which, there will be a short wait until it departs.

Once extracted, you will be rewarded Sprite Dust, which can be used to summon Sprites or purchase items from Sprite Services, such as Portable Ectractors.

Portable Extractors, as noted, can be obtained via Sprite Services, and all you need to do is activate it in your inventory when you have a Sprite equipped.

How to summon Sprites in Fortnite

Before dropping from the Battle Bus, you need to access the Sprite Menu and spend Sprite Dust to summon it.

Once summoned, you need to equip it, at which point it will float around your character, acting as Back Bling.
