90s Supergroup Teases New Music Amid First Tour in 8 Years

A Perfect Circle has some exciting news for fans.

The '90s supergroup, who are currently playing a string of headline shows across the UK and Europe for the first time in almost a decade, have announced that they're "working towards" new music.

"There’s more [music] underway. And in the spirit of soft deadlines, I’m not gonna give you the date, but we’re working toward something," the band's guitarist and founder, Billy Howerdel told Minneapolis’s 93Xradiostation during an interview. "We’re on tour, and it’s hard to get solid things done when you’re out here. I sometimes optimistically think that’s going to happen, [but now, for example] we’re six shows in and this is the first day I really slept. So to get real cracking on the new album, I need a couple more of these days to line up over the next tour."

The rockers kicked off their first UK tour in 8 years on June 3 with two appearances at London's O2 Academy Brixton. During the first show, they played their latest single, "Starless," a surprise release that dropped on May 27.

Following the London shows, A Perfect Circle continued their tour with shows in Germany, Poland, Italy, and Hungary, and will be making appearances at some of Europe's biggest rock music festivals, including Hellfest 2026 and Tons of Rock 2026.

The Billboard chart-topping group was formed in 1999 by Howerdel and frontman Maynard James Keenan, with the band famously featuring a rotating line up. Notable members and collaborators have included Nine Inch Nails drummer Josh Freese, Smashing Pumpkins’ James Iha, Pixies’ bassist Paz Lenchantin, and Troy Van Leeuwen of Queens of the Stone Age.

"He’s at least in the top three hardest-working people I know that have real vision, conviction, a vision that he’s gonna execute and be tenacious about it," Howerdel said of his co-founder. "And he’s like that with music. Once the train starts rolling, it’s rolling. Then that feels good."
