HENRIETTA, N.Y. — Henrietta held its eighth annual Pride Festival at the Dome Arena on Monday night with music and art from members of the LGBTQ+ community.
There were also vendors and local organizations there. Children got to color and make rainbow arts and crafts. Town Supervisor Stephen Schultz said the town board has approved the event every year.
“Every year it’s passed unanimously. This is not a partisan issue. It’s a human rights issue,” Schultz said. “We think it’s very important to affirm our support for everybody in town.”
The town held a ceremonial pride flag raising outside town hall on Monday. Last week, it filed a resolution declaring this “Pride Week” in Henrietta. June marks Pride Month across the U.S.
