ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Monday was exceptionally cool for mid-June, with most areas not making it out of the mid 60s! We’ll keep the cool air around, and with a clearing sky, temperatures will drop into the lower to mid 50s by early Tuesday morning. Then we’ll start to warm things up a little bit. Highs on Tuesday should make it back into the lower 70s with mainly dry weather and a fair amount of sun. Outside of a very slight shower chance during the afternoon, Tuesday should be dry and nice.
Leftover convection from the Midwest will move in Wednesday, bringing us a a few showers Wednesday morning. Once again, most of Wednesday will be rain-free, but a few spotty showers or a thundershower may sprout up during the afternoon hours. We’ll see a better chance of rain by Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
We’re “green” on the Threat Tracker, but we also eyeing our next bigger weather maker moving in Wednesday into Thursday. This will be an impressive storm for June standards, with severe weather likely across the Mid-west. The bulk of our more impactful weather will arrive on Thursday. We’ll start off with a widespread rain Thursday morning moving out. Then the winds will begin to pick up and some sun will pop back out. This may help to spark a few isolated thunderstorms. So our main weather impacts on Thursday will be a west start to the day, followed by the winds ramping up, and then some isolated storms. We’ll monitor the wind and storm threats, and may issue a Yellow Alert if impacts look fairly high. Check back over the next 1-2 days for more specifics.
