Tyra Banks' lawsuit against Netflix is getting a pointed response from the first winner of America's Next Top Model.
Adrianne Curry, who won Cycle 1 of the reality competition series, reacted after Banks filed a lawsuit over Netflix's docuseries Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model. Banks alleges the series used selective editing to create a false and defamatory narrative about her and the show.
Curry seemed to find one part of the complaint especially ironic.
Adrianne Curry Reacted to Tyra Banks' Editing Claims
View this post on InstagramIn a social media video shared Sunday, June 14, Curry reacted to Banks' lawsuit by bringing up the editing at the center of the dispute.
"I read that Tyra Banks is suing Netflix because she didn't like being edited," Curry said, using air quotes around "edited," according to TMZ.
She then laughed and added, "B----, for real girl?"
Curry also captioned the post, "Welcome to the party, pal," making it clear that she saw the lawsuit through the lens of former contestants who have spoken for years about how reality TV shaped their stories.

Banks filed a lawsuit against Netflix, EverWonder Studio and directors Daniel Sivan and Mor Loushy over Reality Check: Inside America's Next Top Model.
According to People, Banks claims she participated in the docuseries to have a candid conversation about the show's legacy, including aspects of ANTM she would approach differently today.
The lawsuit alleges that Banks sat for a more than three-hour interview, but only a small portion of it was used in the final series. Banks claims that editing left out important context and made her appear dismissive of serious issues raised in the documentary.
The lawsuit also accuses Netflix of false endorsement and alleges that the production company breached its agreement with Banks.
The Shandi Sullivan Story Is Part of the Lawsuit

One of the major points in the lawsuit involves former contestant Shandi Sullivan.
Sullivan, who appeared on Cycle 2 of America's Next Top Model, discussed an incident that happened during filming in the Netflix docuseries. In the lawsuit, Banks claims she did not know Sullivan had recharacterized the incident as sexual assault when Banks was interviewed for the documentary.
The lawsuit argues that the final edit made it appear as though Banks could not remember or did not care about Sullivan's experience. Banks denies that portrayal and says the series created a misleading impression.
Netflix has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.

Curry is not the only former America's Next Top Model figure reacting.
Entertainment Weekly reported that Angelea Preston, who competed on the show and later appeared on ANTM: All-Stars, also criticized Banks' lawsuit. Preston said the situation felt familiar to contestants who have long argued that editing affected how viewers saw them.

Curry's new reaction is also notable because she had previously defended Banks after Reality Check stirred renewed backlash against America's Next Top Model.
Earlier this year, Curry said she respected Banks for not apologizing amid the criticism around the show. At the time, she suggested Banks did not owe viewers the type of apology many people were demanding.
The Lawsuit Reopens a Larger 'ANTM' Debate
America's Next Top Model has been debated for years, especially as old clips and contestant stories have resurfaced online.
The Netflix docuseries added to that conversation by revisiting the show's legacy, including its impact on contestants, the modeling industry and reality TV more broadly. Banks' lawsuit now opens a new chapter in that debate.
For Banks, the issue is whether the docuseries presented a misleading and defamatory version of her participation.
According to former ANTM contestants, now Banks may understand what it feels like to be edited into someone else's story.
