Mary Lucas is the founder of Long Leaf Animal Rescue in Hillsborough. After less than a year in operation, Long Leaf already has dozens of volunteers and and foster families rescuing cats and dogs in cases where owners have passed away or are entering nursing homes, hospitals, or hospice care. They want to know their animals are going to be safe and taken care of and Long Leaf Animal Rescue gives them that peace of mind.
