On Sunday morning, the Tigers landed a commitment from former Tulane outfielder Jason Wachs out of the transfer portal. Wachs had an excellent season for Tulane in 2026, hitting .327 with 9 homers.

According to data from Over-Slot Baseball, Wachs posted an average exit velocity that ranked in the 91st percentile among college baseball players in 2026.

With star center fielder Derek Curiel expected to sign with an MLB organization this summer, Wachs would be a candidate to replace him in the Tigers’ lineup next spring.
LSU has been very active in the transfer portal so far this offseason. The Tigers previously landed a commitment from Notre Dame star Bino Watters — another candidate to get playing time in the outfield for the Tigers in 2027.
