Good news, The Night Agent fans! Peter Sutherland and Rose Larkin will be reunited once more in the fourth and final season of the action thriller series.
Deadline reports that Luciane Buchanan, who played Peter's (Gabriel Basso) love interest Rose in seasons 1 and 2 will reprise her role in the upcoming season.
The extent of Rose's presence in season 4 is unclear, with her storyline currently being kept under wraps.
Fans of the series were disappointed when Buchanan did not return in season 3, with showrunner Shawn Ryan explaining it was ultimately creative reasons that saw the character exit.
"In the writers room, we certainly discussed it, in fact, that was our starting position: What would a Peter-Rose-centric story in season 3 look like?, Ryan told Deadline. "There were moments in that conversation that felt a little derivative of the first couple seasons.
"And then we challenged ourselves, what would it look like without Rose in the season, and we came up with a lot of what you see in season 3. So it was completely a creative decision."
He added: "I love Luciane as an actress, I love her as a person, and if and when we have the right storyline for her we’ll beg her to come back to the show. "
Buchanan has previously been hopeful about a possible return to The Night Agent, having told the publication: "I’m sure Shawn Ryan and his team will find a little way; maybe we’ll make a little cameo along the way."
