Carly Pearce is opening up about how her faith and relationship with God have grown.
“I grew up in the church, and I think just my relationship with God has grown so much deeper and richer than just some of the beliefs that I learned as a kid. As I’ve grown closer to God, I think there’s just been a lot less judgment and a lot more boldness, if you will, for me to just be very accepting of anybody going through a journey, because who am I to tell you anything?” she told Us Weekly exclusively at her fifth annual Carly’s Closet event ahead of her CMA Fest performance on Saturday, June 7.
The country singer, 36, said her faith helps her stay grounded while working in showbiz.
“I think it’s everything. I think my faith and my family have been the center point. What I’m most proud of in my life is… I think anybody in my life that has known me my whole life would tell you I’m the exact same,” Pearce told Us.

“When you’re vulnerable with people and you’re just honest, people want to share. I think we live in a world where we feel like we all have to have it all together, and if you speak about things like OCD, then something’s wrong with you,” Pearce said on why she continues to share about her mental health struggles.
“We’re all dealing with mental health, and we’re all dealing with struggles and real-life experiences, and I want to be somebody that maybe allows somebody else to share that they need help, or go talk to somebody. So, if I do it, maybe I can influence,” she explained.
The Grammy Award winner has been doing the work on herself, even crediting therapy for helping her through.
Carly Pearce Shares Biggest Lesson She’s Learned After Michael Ray Split
“I am who I am, and I think when you’re in the public eye, it can be easy to kind of do this and want to maybe do what other people are doing because it’s the flavor of the moment, but I’m really proud of myself that especially right now in my life, I am just myself and not trying to do anything else,” Pearce told Us.
Pearce also revealed she’s learning to celebrate her flaws.
“I’ve learned [to] embrace the imperfections and embrace what makes you you, what makes you quirky. I am weird. I am very odd, and I love that. I think life is too short to try to live in a pursuit of perfection because it’s never going to happen,” she stated.
The “Every Little Thing” singer has been an open book recently. Just last month, Pearce addressed her messy split from ex-husband Michael Ray during an episode of the “Person Who Believed in Me” podcast.
“There’s a bit of Jekyll and Hyde … that I did not see until it was too late,” she said in May. “He made it very clear that I made a very big mistake.”
Pearce and Ray, 38, tied the knot in 2019. They were married for only eight months when she filed for divorce in June 2020. Their divorce was finalized three months later in September 2020.

While her marriage didn’t work out, Pearce has found a soulmate in fellow country singer Kelsea Ballerini.
“Oh my God, it’s like nothing else I have,” she told Us about her friendship with Ballerini, 32.
“Truly, we’ve been friends since she was barely 19 and I was like 22. She’s my sister in this industry,” she continued. “We have had hard conversations, we have cried to each other, we have been there in the hardest moments, and truly, I am forever grateful. She inspires me, and just the superpower star that she is. She is a wonderful person and I’ll always root for her.”
Ballerini feels the same about their bond and fellowship.
“I’m ride or die for her, for sure. Carly and I are sweatpants friends, like, we kick it, you know,” she told Us ahead of SoFi’s Amplify Your Ambitions contest on June 4.
