High school seniors Sophie Pham and Matilda White, who both live in Seattle, Washington, and swim year-round with Seattle Metropolitan Aquatic Club, are committed to Vanderbilt University’s class of 2030.
Sophie Pham is graduating from Garfield High School where she is a 3-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American. She competed at the 2024 WIAA Girls’ 3A State Championships during her junior season, placing 4th in the 100 fly (54.28) and 4th in the 100 back (55.72). This past fall, she swam at 2025 Winter Juniors West and at the Washington State Senior Short Course Championships a week later. At the former, she competed in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly and finaled in the fly (20th). At the latter, she clocked PBs in the 200 free (1:52.98) and 100 flly (53.80) and hit season-highs in the 50 back (25.61) and 100 back (55.45). She won both backstroke events and was runner-up in the fly.

She won the 50 free (23.66) and was runner-up in the 100 breast (1:04.39) at the 2025 WIAA Girls’ 4A State Championships this season, notching a PB in the breast. A few weeks later she lowered her 100 breast time to 1:03.71 and notched a new PB of 2:16.55 in the 200 back at the Tualatin Hills Holiday Classic. She swam the 50 free, 100 breast, and 200 breast at Winter Juniors West, then competed in the 50 free, 100 free, and 50 breast at the 2025 Washington State Senior Short Course Championships.
