Videos captured at least two confirmed tornadoes and several funnel clouds that spun up debris across Illinois early Thursday evening.
The confirmed tornadoes hit Streator, Illinois and Dwight, Illinois, according to the National Weather Service, and sparked warnings in LaSalle, Grundy and Kankakee counties. Northwestern Lake County in Indiana is also under a tornado warning until 8 p.m.
The storms across the region were moving through at speeds between 20 to 45 mph, according to NWS. Some were capable of producing gusts of wind up to 60 mph that are capable of causing damage.
One of the confirmed tornadoes that hit the Streator, Illinois area around 5:50 p.m. was captured on a video shared with NBC Chicago by Ashley Heider.
The twister in Streator was also captured on video by Jessa Ballard.
Damage to structures has been reported on the south side of Streator according to NWS and Illinois State Police.
