PERINTON, N.Y. — Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two more people in connection to a deadly shooting at an apartment complex on Pittsford Palmyra Road in Perinton on May 27.

Destiny Cotto, 27, and Ja’Quez Riley-Hill, 20, are both charged with murder in the second degree and robbery.
Deputies originally charged Tyree Ross-Simmons with murder in connection to the shooting on May 28. They say Ross-Simmons shot and killed a 32-year-old man inside his apartment.

Investigators learned that Ross-Simmons didn’t act alone, and say at least one person was “untruthful” in initial statements to police.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ross-Simmons was convicted of five felonies in Virginia back in 2020 for drugs and weapons. In addition, he was convicted of criminal possession of a weapon back in 2014 after RPD arrested him. He was also charged with DWI in Georgia.

The two charged Tuesday are currently being held in Monroe County Jail awaiting their next court appearance.
