France has barred Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrichfrom entering the country, Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced onTuesday, citing his support for the annexation of the occupied West Bank andcalls to re-establish Israeli settlements in Gaza.
Paris also imposed entry bans on four leaders of settlementorganizations and 21 settlers accused of involvement in violence in the WestBank, Barrot stated, condemning “policies rejected by the overwhelming majorityof the international community, which remains committed to the two-statesolution.”
Barrot said the measures, which target individuals linked tothe expansion of settlements and violence in the West Bank, align with similaractions taken by the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, andNorway.
