ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our mild but comfortable weather pattern will start to change quickly this week, as more heat and humidity return. With that, rain and storm chances will be going up. At this point, we’re staying “green” on the Threat Tracker, but we’ll monitor the intensity of storms as they begin to increase this week. Breaking down the details:
Tuesday should see dry weather with a fair amount of sunshine into the early afternoon hours. Some showers and thundery downpours will likely start to develop by mid to late afternoon and into the early evening hours as moisture and humidity start to surge into our region. Some of these storms will probably be around for the evening commute, so windshield wipers will be going! Some of these will be slow moving, but training isn’t expected, and flooding isn’t expected at this point. Temperatures will climb into the mid 80s, with dewpoints climbing into the 60s, making it feel a bit more uncomfortable.
Some showers and thunder will likely last into Wednesday, with some possible clearing and drier weather into the afternoon. That begin said, it’ll remain uncomfortable with higher humidity levels and warm summer-like air. Similar weather will be around for Thursday, with warm and humid air, and a few showers or storms around. A cold front moving in on Friday will bring a better chance for more widespread and organized rain and thunder. This will be followed by somewhat cooler and more comfortable weather to kick off the weekend.
