ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say two people jumped out of a stolen car after refusing to pull over on the city’s northeast side on Sunday.
News10NBC’s photojournalist saw the car on the sidewalk near a home. Officers say they arrested the 16-year-old driver, but the other person ran away. Charges are pending against the teen.
According to RPD, officers spotted the car, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra reported stolen from Greece, around Avenue D and Hollenbeck Street. Before a chase could begin, both people inside the car jumped out and began running.
Officers say they arrested the driver, who wasn’t injured, a few streets away. RPD is still investigating. Greece Polcie also responded to the scene.
