The first half of Rivals season 2 has now wrapped on Disney+, and what a ride it's been, packed with scheming, sex and, tragically, death.
In the mid-season finale, Tony Baddingham's wife Monica is killed after getting caught in a storm. After Tony's affair with Maud O'Hara is exposed, Monica storms out of the family home and turns to Lizzie for support.
Their conversation gives Monica food for thought, prompting her to return home and tell Tony that she's leaving him and filing for divorce.
But after another bitter confrontation, during which Tony unleashes a torrent of abuse, Monica drives away. Moments later, tragedy strikes when a tree crashes onto her car during the storm, killing her.
It's Rupert who delivers the devastating news to Tony, who is left visibly shattered despite his appalling treatment of Monica in her final hours. But viewers will have to wait a little longer to find out what happens next.

Rivals season 2 release schedule: When does episode 7 land on Disney+?
Rivals season 2 premiered on Disney+ on Friday 15 May, with the first three episodes dropping at 7am. The 12-episode season has been split into two six-episode batches, with the remainder of the first batch released weekly.
New episodes then arrived on Disney+ every Friday at 7am.
As for the remaining six episodes, Disney+ has yet to confirm a release date for Rivals season 2 part 2.
