Embury, a Port Charlotte native, heads to Gainesville after 2 seasons at FGCU. He’s coming off a standout sophomore season that earned him All-Atlantic Sun First Team recognition and ASUN Player of the Year honors.
This season, Embury was one of Florida Gulf Coast’s top bats. He led the team with 79 hits, 60 RBIs, 17 home runs, 126 total bases and 27 extra-base hits, posting an OPS of 1.084, a team-high, and a .655 slugging percentage. Defensively, Embury nabbed 20 runners caught stealing on 36 attempts. He posted a .993 fielding percentage, committing just 3 errors.
Baseball America ranked the No. 16 player to enter the transfer portal. He’s also up for the Buster Posey Award for top catcher.
