The Rockets beat Southeastern Local 4-0 in a Division VII state semifinal Thursday morning at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
Maplewood will face the winner of Mohawk and Portsmouth Notre Dame, who play later today, in the Rockets’ first state championship appearance.
Thursday marked the second time the Rockets made the state semifinals in program history. The only other came in 2005, when they lost 3-2 to Willow Wood Symmes Valley.
First pitch for the championship is Friday at 8 p.m. at Firestone Stadium.
