Despite ending her relationship with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) and planning to move to Sheffield, Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) is still demanding a whopping £100k from Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins).

Charity has reached a new point of desperation in today's Emmerdale, arranging for all of Caleb Miligan's (William Ash) workers to be in The Woolpack while she stole from his depot.

Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was firmly against the operation, urging her cousin to come clean to husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) and granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) about baby Leyla's paternity.

As viewers – and Dr Todd know, while trying to act as surrogate for Sarah and her husband Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), Charity actually fell pregnant with Ross Barton's (Michael Parr) daughter instead.

Todd initially wanted Jacob to stop filing a HR complaint against her in exchange for silence over the matter, but later upped her blackmail to £10k, and then £100k.

Charity tried to sell The Woolpack to Kim Tate (Claire King), though when she dropped out of the sale, was forced to undertake illegal tactics.

Son Noah (Jack Downham) was booked to sort some electrics at the depot, meaning that the premises would be unmanned all day. Charity thought this would be the perfect opportunity to swoop in and steal some merchandise, and to ensure nobody would be sniffing around, told the workers that Woolpack chef Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) wanted them to taste test his new menu.

They were thrilled to have free food and drinks, and while Marlon, Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) and Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) entertained them, Charity snuck off.

Chas raced in her direction, quickly ushering Charity into a spot where they couldn't be found. Caleb wasn't far behind, and clocked that a number of items from his warehouse had been stolen.

As Noah was the only person with a key that day, and there was no sign of forced entry, Caleb blamed him for the missing items.

Although it seemed like Chas may have made a breakthrough to Charity's guilty conscience, it later transpired that she'd actually handed over 30,000 units of Caleb's stock to a buyer, and had pocketed around a grand for each one.

Once again, Chas asserted that it would only be a matter of time before someone exposed her wrongdoings, and paying off Todd wouldn't be the end of her nightmare.

That night, Charity met up with Todd on the footbridge and handed her an envelope containing the money. She was furious that it wasn't the full amount, and said Charity had just 24 hours to get the rest or she'd blow the secret at Sarah's 21st birthday party.
