College basketball insider Matt Norlander of CBS Sports is reporting, per sources, that the game is being moved from Madison Square Garden to loanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins.

Per Norlander, the game’s date remains Dec. 21 even with the change in venue. It sets up to be on the biggest nonconference games of the 2026-27 regular season.
Michigan enters next season as the defending national champion. In his second season, Dusty May guided the Wolverines to a 37-3 record. UM’s last loss came in the Big Ten Tournament to Purdue, before a 6-0 run in the NCAA Tournament culminating in a 69-63 win over UConn in the national championship game.
Duke went 35-3 last season, sweeping the ACC regular-season and conference tournament titles. The Blue Devils reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, falling to UConn.
Michigan and Duke played on Feb. 21 in Washington, D.C. The Blue Devils won that game 68-63.
