ROCHESTER, N.Y. – It has been ten days with little to no rainfall for Western New York, but the News10NBC First Alert meteorologists see that changing by the weekend. There is still some uncertainty as to how much rain and how persistent the wet weather will be. However, the probability of rain will be rising late Friday night into Saturday. We do not anticipate a washout, but a few periods with a downpour will be possible, especially for the first half of the weekend. If the speed of the weather system continues as expected, there could be significant periods of dry weather returning later on Sunday.
Tonight, look for mainly clear skies and it will not be a cool as last night. The low temperature will be near 53 degrees. Thursday brings another day of sunshine. It will be noticeably warmer with the high temperature in the lower 80s. Friday will be warm as well, but there will be a significant increase in the humidity. The high temperature in the low to middle 80s.
Late Friday night into Saturday brings occasional showers and thundershowers. Again. A few downpours will be possible. The high temperature is nearly 80 degrees. These passing showers and thundershowers will likely be with us Saturday night, but the threat of rain should diminish by Sunday morning. The humidity will be falling with showers moving south of Rochester. The current trend is for more sunshine for Sunday afternoon. The high temperature will be in the middle 70s on Sunday.
