Teddi Mellencamp received the news she had been hoping for after an anxiety-filled wait for her latest cancer scans.
In a video shared to her Instagram Story, the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's doctor delivered a promising update.
"The scan shows no evidence of tumor in your body," he told her. "When you came, you had tumors in your brain and in your lungs. We don't see those now. There's evidence you had treatment and that the immunotherapy has helped you."
The doctor explained that Mellencamp is in remission and has had a "complete response to therapy," with "the best outcome we could hope for." Teddi noted that she will continue immunotherapy treatment for another year.
The encouraging update came just one day after Mellencamp opened up about experiencing intense scanxiety—the anxiety and fear many cancer patients feel while awaiting scan results.
View this post on InstagramTeddi has undergone regular medical testing since being diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022. Despite treatment, 17 surgeries, and multiple recurrences, the cancer spread to her brain and lungs in 2025. Now battling stage 4 cancer, she is receiving immunotherapy, and her doctors have been encouraged by her response to treatment.
Even so, the wait between CT and MRI results has remained one of the hardest parts of her journey.
"Ever since I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, I get immunotherapy monthly, and I was getting CT scans and MRIs monthly. But this past time, they decided they're gonna wait 3-4 months in between the tests," she opened up on Instagram.
"This has created such a nervous, raging anxiety inside of me. I'm on my third set of pajamas for tonight because I keep sweating through. I'm speaking so fast because I'm so anxious. I keep having panic attacks. Does this happen to you guys when it comes to the testing?"
Teddi is one of many cancer patients who experience "scanxiety" while awaiting test results. More than half of patients report feelings of worry, uncertainty, and emotional distress during the waiting period, with younger patients often reporting the highest levels of anxiety.
She also admitted that the experience can feel isolating.
"It's also really lonely," she shared. "I started following so many people that have or have had cancer and you read about what they're going through. But you don't really understand until you go through the different phases yourself."
She added while fighting back tears, "I've just hit that point where I'm just exhausted. I'm exhausted and I realize there's probably a lot of you out there that feel just like me. So that's why I'm posting tonight. Not for dramatics—just to tell you I love you and I'm sorry if you're going through this."
