Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met on Tuesday with a delegation from the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, comprising Chair of the Conference Elizabeth Berns Korn, and Chief Executive Officer of the Conference William Daroff.
The meeting was attended by Egypt’s Director of General Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad.
The Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson, Mohamed al-Shennawy said that during the meeting the President emphasized Egypt’s appreciation for the strategic relations binding Egypt and the US.
Sisi underscored the pivotal nature of the close coordination and consultations between the two countries in achieving peace and stability in the Middle East and addressing shared challenges, particularly in facing terrorism and extremist ideology.
The President also stressed the need to continue boosting bilateral relations across various political, economic, and investment fields.
The delegation expressed their deep appreciation for their visit to Egypt and for meeting with Sisi.
They also praised the strategic bilateral relationship between Egypt and the US, and valued Egypt’s efforts to preserve peace and stability in the Middle East.
Regional talks
The meeting touched on the overall regional developments. The delegation members listened to the President’s vision for achieving regional stability.
President Sisi highlighted Egypt’s endeavors aimed at de-escalating the current tensions and supporting the path of ongoing negotiations between the US and Iran to end the current war, thereby avoiding its economic and political repercussions on the region and the world.
Sisi further reiterated the significance of a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian cause, in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and based on the two-state solution.
The President stressed that this is the only way to ensure lasting peace and stability in the Middle East, given that Palestine remains the central cause of the Arab world.
