One of the best shows on Netflix has to be a Showtime masterpiece. Shameless, which ran for 11 seasons, has been one of those guilty pleasures that we just couldn’t get enough of.
Sadly, the run on the streamer is coming to an end. What’s On Netflix has announced that it’s one of the five major licensed shows leaving before the year is out. The good news is that there’s still time to binge-watch the mammoth series, as there are 11 seasons to get through.
Based on the UK series of the same name, Shameless ran between 2001 and 2011, bringing a story of a family completely unapologetic and wild. Frank is a single father of six, who spends more of his time drinking than looking after the kids, leading to the children having to raise each other. Of course, that means running scams, committing petty crimes, and taking after dear old dad.
All 11 Seasons of ‘Shameless’ Are Leaving Netflix
After years of the Gallagher family wrecking havoc for all, Shameless will leave Netflix on October 11, 2026. This is just before Gossip Girl also leaves the platform.
The decision is surprising when you consider the number of hours that people have logged with this epic dysfunctional family. Between 2023 and 2025, 2.74 billion hours were counted, and considering there are 134 episodes, it’s clear that fans are not done living the drama and the craziness.

‘Shameless’ Doesn’t Have Another Streaming Home Yet
Nobody knows where the Gallagher family will land after leaving the streaming home they’ve known for years. It’s far too early to tell, as there are sure to be bidding wars and negotiations to land this one.
HBO Max is the most obvious home for it, as the Showtime series was a Warner Bros. production. That doesn’t mean it will definitely go there, as Warner Bros. is a fan of licensing its content out. For example, after leaving Netflix, Supernatural went to both Peacock and Prime Video.
